The latest Call of Duty (CoD) ban wave by the Ricochet Anti-Cheat team resulted in over 65,000 suspended accounts last week. These accounts were found violating various terms, including restrictions on using unauthorized software and paid boosting services.
“The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat team has now purged the Ranked Play leaderboards in both Call of Duty: Warzone and MW3, banning accounts for cheating and boosting. Team RICOCHET has accelerated cheat vendor enforcements, resulting in over 65,000 account bans across Ranked Play and the non-Ranked modes in Warzone and MW3 this week,” the official post wrote.
Unauthorized software provides an unfair advantage to users, while boosting services as the name suggested is used by low-skilled players to rank up on the leaderboard. Both situations lead regular players to suffer and have been restricted not only in CoD but in every competitive game.
These ban waves are common and happen once every few months to pick out some notorious players. Sadly, the frequency of these bans is still not able to combat the cheating issues effectively as making another account doesn’t require much time, so the cheaters banned in months can come back in a matter of days. This was also pretty clear in the player's response to the news.

Fans not satisfied with the action
Despite the ban, fans are still not satisfied with the frequency and numbers and called all of this effort for nothing. Call of Duty has a very large player base and 65,000 as per the players is nothing and is likely cheaper or free cheats that get detected soon. Here’s what players had to say.
