Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson have gotten the opportunity to open for India in the ongoing T20I series against Bangladesh. However, they haven't been able to convert this opportunity into something great. In both matches, they got out cheaply when they had the chance to score something big and cement their place in the team in the absence of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Speaking about their performance and lost opportunity, former India player Aakash Chopra, on his YouTube channel, said they will regret the chances they have wasted in these few games. Both players were chosen above Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is ninth in the ICC T20I rankings.

Moreover, his performance was good in the last played series against Zimbabwe, but he was still excluded from the Sri Lanka and Bangladesh series without any proper explanation. Hence, if the current openers don't play well, there are high chance they will be dropped from the team.

"When the South Africa tour comes, who knows Yashasvi, Shubman and Ruturaj might be available, and Sanju and Abhishek are opening. Suddenly you have five openers and five won't play. Ishan Kishan might also start knocking on the door after some time. When you find yourself in that situation, you might regret that you wasted your chances," said Aakash Chopra.

Nitish Reddy's all-round performance helped India clinch the series against Bangladesh

In the ongoing T20I series against Bangladesh, India won two matches and clinched the series. However, one game is still left, but the Suryakumar Yadav-led team locks the series. Nitish Kumar Reddy emerged as a prolific player in the previous match, scoring 73 runs and taking two wickets. For his all-round performance, he also won the Player of the Match award.

He has shown his all-round prowess, which will be helpful to India in the upcoming years if he manages to keep himself consistent throughout. Having a batting all-rounder who can bowl perfectly is great, and if India has it in the form of Nitish Reddy, they will keep a close eye on his performance.
