Leading newspaper Times of India has reported that Rohit Sharma could be seen opening the batting in Brisbane. According to the newspaper, Rohit was seen practicing against the new ball during the nets session just 48 hours before the game. If this is true, then KL Rahul could be sent back to bat at the number 6 spot.

Ahead of the Adelaide game, Rohit had willingly demoted himself to the number six spot. The Indian skipper had a game to forget, scoring 3 runs in the first inning and falling for just six runs in the second inning. KL Rahul had done well in the first game of the series in Perth with scores of 26 and 77. The right-handed batter also added 201 runs for the opening wicket during the 1st Test.

The 32-year-old then scored 37 and 7 during the second Test of the series in Adelaide. Rahul had lost his opening slot to Rohit Sharma in 2019 amidst a bad run of form with the bat. Ever since his move to the middle-order, the 32-year-old has scored 234 runs in the number six spot. Rahul has hit one century and one fifty from the 9 innings he has batted at number six.

Mitchell Johnson left unhappy with Mohammed Siraj's antics in Adelaide

Former Australian pace bowler Mitchell Johnson has slammed Mohammed Siraj for his antics in Adelaide. The Indian pacer was involved in a public spat with Travis Head after dismissing the batter for 140. Siraj was docked 20% of his match fees for giving send-off to Travis Head.

Mitchell Johnson slammed Indian pacers while writing his column for The Nightly. “The other issue involving Siraj in the second test is his “celebrappeal” when he didn’t turn to appeal. Out of respect to the umpires, you should always turn and appeal to them, even if you think it’s clearly out. I don’t think Siraj did it intentionally, but he should know better at this level."

The former Aussie star also wrote, “It will be interesting to see how Siraj responds to the extra attention and if it will help or hinder his performance. He seems to be one of those bowlers who crosses the boundary line, and that fire in the belly ignites in him. Time will tell, and Siraj will have a huge role to play leading the Indian attack if Jasprit Bumrah misses the third Test with injury."
