'You can't expect every youngster to be like...' - Ambati Rayudu wants Virat Kohli to lower his standards for sake of RCB youngsters

India's star batter Virat Kohli has always been quite supportive and encouraging towards youngsters and juniors. We have seen him talking to them during their bad phases. However, during a conversation on Star Sports, India's former batter Ambati Rayadu said that Kohli's high standards put pressure on the young players in the team which prevents them from scoring runs or performing better. This statement has drawn criticism toward the former batter. 

"Virat Kohli is a stalwart and a Legend there in the team. He sets so high standards which puts pressure on the youngsters to emulate him. So, Virat needs to lower his standards a bit so that the youngsters can be in a good state of mind in the dressing room," said Ambati Rayadu. 

Kohli won the Orange Cap award in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 after scoring 741 runs in 15 innings. He played extremely well throughout the tournament and also helped RCB win a lot of matches. The kinds of starts Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave their team was magical. However, due to one bad game, they were out of the tournament.

Former RCB skipper Virat Kohli's dedication towards his game and team is on a different level. He played quality cricket during the entire IPL 2024 season and hence, won the Orange Cap. He completed deserved the award due to his performance and efforts during the tournament. There hasn't been a single game where he hasn't performed well, which was a big plus point for the team. 

"It was a roller-coaster of a ride, I was really pleased with the way I performed for my team throughout the season but more importantly in the latter half where we needed to win every game to qualify. Something that I hope to replicate in the 2025 season of the IPL as well," said Virat Kohli at the post-match presentation after the IPL 2024 eliminator.
