WPL 2025: RCB Women clinch thrilling 11-run win in last league match to force MI-W play eliminator against Gujarat Giants Women

After a dismal run of form in the ongoing Women’s Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025), Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W) finally finished on a higher note with a thrilling 11-run win in their last league game against MI-W.

After a dismal run of form in the ongoing Women’s Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025), Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W) finally finished on a higher note with a thrilling 11-run win in their last league game against Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W). Both teams took on each other in the tournament’s last league match at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The MI-W skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur, won the toss and asked RCB-W to bat first; batting first, RCB-W posted a big total of 199 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana scored 53 runs off 37 balls, with six fours and three sixes, followed by Ellyse Perry’s 49 runs off 38 balls, with five fours and a six.

Besides these two, wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh also scored 36 runs off just 22 balls, with five fours and a six, followed by Georgia Wareham’s quick, fiery 31 runs off just 10 balls, with five fours and a six. Apart from all these efforts, opener Sabbhineni Meghana also contributed with 26 runs off just 16 balls, with 4 fours and a six. Hayley Matthews scalped 2 wickets for MI-W, alongside a wicket picked by Amelia Kerr in the first innings.

The RCB Women bowling attack gets better of the MI-W batters

While chasing the target, Mumbai Indians Women put their all in the run chase but fell short by 12 runs and lost the game by 11 runs, scoring 188 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the entire 20 overs while chasing the target of 200 runs.

Nat Sciver-Brunt played a swashbuckling knock of 69 runs off just 35 balls, with nine fours and two sixes, followed by Sajeevan Sajana’s 23 runs off just 12 balls, with one four and two sixes. But these efforts were not enough as MI-W ended up as a losing side in the game. 

Sneh Rana scalped 3 wickets at just 26 runs in her four overs for RCB, alongside 2 wickets each, bagged by Kim Garth and Ellyse Perry. Besides these, Heather Graham and Georgia Wareham also bagged a wicket each. 
Now, Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians Women will face the Gujarat Giants Women in the tournament’s eliminator to secure a spot in the final to play against the table toppers Delhi Capitals Women.
