Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is set to resume with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at home. Win on Saturday will all but confirm RCB’s spot at the top of the table and also put them close to a playoff spot. However, there is a bad news ahead of the game as there is a massive downpour predicted on Saturday.

This is a bad news for both sides as KKR, in particular, need to win and keep their hopes alive. If the game ends up washed out, then Kolkata could find themselves on the cusp of an exit from the tournament. In the last encounter between the two sides, it was RCB who came out on top with an easy win at the Eden Gardens stadium.

Currently, RCB are joint top of the table with 16 points from 11 games with a run-rate of +0.482. After their game against KKR on Saturday, RCB will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at home. Their final game of the season will be away to Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium.

What are RCB's qualification chances?

If the game on Saturday does end in a washout, then RCB will have 17 points from 12 games. This will put Rajat Patidar and his men at the top of the table for a few hours at least, ahead of the Gujarat versus Delhi encounter on Sunday.

RCB will put themselves in a great spot as far as the qualification for the playoffs is concerned. Rajat Patidar and his men will then have to win one of their final two games of the season to move to 19 points for a place in the top two spots of the table.

Punjab Kings, who have 15 points from their 11 games, will take on Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday. A win for PBKS with a decent margin will see Shreyas Iyer’s side overhaul RCB in the points table. If Gujarat win their game against Delhi on Sunday, then the Titans and Punjab will occupy the top two spots in the table.
