MS Dhoni has kept options open about playing in the IPL 2026 season after leading Chennai Super Kings to 83-run win over Gujarat Titans (GT). Harsha Bhogle announced Dhoni’s name to huge cheers of the partisan crowd in the post-game interaction. Bhogle, recounted asking Dhoni his future plans after the 2021 and 2023 season.

When asked to reveal his playing future in the league, Dhoni said that he still has few months to decide. This evoked huge cheers from the crowd about the possibility of MS Dhoni playing one more season. Suresh Raina had revealed during the course of the season that the former Indian skipper will be part of the IPL 2026 season. 

Dhoni also added that he is not in a hurry to take a call on his future and also revealed that he has to work on his fitness. The former India skipper also added he wants to go back home to Ranchi and enjoy a few bike rides. This is when Dhoni threw another curve ball when he said “I am not saying I am done, not saying I am coming back. I have the luxury of timing. Will think about it and then decide”

The 43-year-old also added that there a few gaps to fill for the next season. In his chat with Harsha Bhogle, the former India skipper also mentioned that Ruturaj Gaikwad will return as the skipper next season and the plan is to give him a team that can win the title. 

Shubman Gill gives his thoughts on huge loss to CSK

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill said at the end of the game that his team lost after the powerplay overs itself. CSK had scored 68 runs for the loss of one wicket in their batting innings. GT on the other hand had lost few early wickets while chasing 231 runs needed for the win. Gill also said that his team wasn’t able to keep their composure while chasing a huge target that led to their downfall. 

Dewald Brevis was named man of the match for his 25-ball 57 runs. The South African batter said he was happy and enjoying his game. Brevis also said that it was a huge honor to be compared to a legend like AB De Villiers when asked about the constant comparisons with South Africa’s former batting great.
