Australia travelled to Scotland and whitewashed them in a 3-match T20I series held in September. However, they seemed rather surprised after seeing the trophy than being elated. This was because they received a weird-shaped trophy equal to the size of the Ashes Trophy. The trophy was basically a mini-bowl that was presented to the winning captain, Mitchell Marsh.

Marsh couldn't control his laughter after getting the trophy and was clueless about how to pose with the trophy since it was extremely small. The trophy was a Scottish whiskey bowl called 'quaich,' used as a souvenir to hold whiskey or other beverages. Its main use is to pass around for everyone to take a sip from it, and it is made up of silver, pewter, or wood. The quaich has a long history in Scotland and represents friendship and camaraderie among people.

Watch Marsh's reaction here:

Australia dominated the entire series and clinched victory in all the matches. Brandon McMullen was the highest run-scorer of the match with 134 runs in three innings where he hit 10 boundaries and seven sixes. In bowling, Cameron Green claimed six wickets in three matches at an average of 10.65.

Had a lot of opportunities with this young team: Mitchell Marsh

Australian captain Mitchell Marsh was elated after winning the trophy. He was quite happy with the young lads and gave them credit for a wonderful series. Aussies dominated the entire series, as it was expected, but the new and inexperienced players worked extremely well throughout the series, which was brilliant.

"Had a great week, had a lot of opportunities with this young team. Guys stepping up at different moments and playing good all-round cricket was good to see. It has been fantastic to play at a venue like this, different challenge and this is a good opportunity to thank Scotland and Scottish cricket," said Mitchell Marsh in the post-match presentation.
