Australia's star opener, Travis Head, returned to his beast mode on Wednesday as he scored 80 runs off just 25 balls, helping Australia chase the target of 155 runs in just 9.4 overs. It didn't look like Australia could chase the target so early after losing Jake Fraser-McGurk in the third ball of the innings. What happened next was historic and beyond imagination. Head and skipper Mitchell Marsh (39 runs off 12 balls) wreaked havoc on the Scotland bowlers and made a partnership of 113 runs in just 6.1 overs.

The 1st T20I between Scotland and Australia was one beautiful match where the visitors won the game by seven wickets. Plus, this match broke a lot of records and made some new ones as well. Australia broke the record of Romania, which had set the record in 2021 by chasing 158 runs in 12.5 overs against Greece. Now, the Kangaroo Nation holds the record of the most successful chases in men's T20Is.

Additionally, Australia also smashed the 2nd highest score in the powerplays, 113-0 in 6 overs. Thanks to Travis Head, they are now leading the series 1-0. Head also became the highest scorer inside the powerplays in T20Is after scoring 73 runs in the first six overs. He broke the record of Ireland's Paul Stirling, who scored 67 runs off 25 balls in 2020. For playing an extraordinary inning, Head was awarded with the Player of the Match.

That is my role in the team which is to maximize the powerplay: Travis Head

Travis Head's SRH form returned against Scotland, and he smashed the bowlers left, right, and center. Moreover, after the match, he spoke about his role in the team and how he has to maximize the powerplays which will benefit the rest of the batters. Plus, he enjoyed the electrifying atmosphere which motivated him to hit more.

"Really enjoying the environment and a few of us that have been around for a while and also loving the atmosphere with quite a few youngsters coming in. Obviously losing Jake early and not sure what the wicket was going to to do, but nice to get into my groove and that is my role in the team which is to maximise the powerplay and I think we did that," said Travis Head in the post-match presentation.
