The young Indian team has gone to Zimbabwe to play a 5-match T20I series at the Harare Sports Club, Harare. Shubman Gill is leading the team for the first time, which is a proud moment for him. In the first match of the series, when Gill came out for the toss, and later, the Indian team came out for the National Anthem, it was noticed that there was only one star present on the jerseys of the players.
After winning the T20 World Cup 2024, the stars present on the jerseys should have been two, not one. While there is no official explanation behind this, there is only one possible reason: travelling. When India won the finals on June 29 against South Africa in Barbados, the young team which were supposed to play in Zimbabwe had already left and the jerseys were made.
The series' official start date was July 6, and there was limited time for the entire team to make the jerseys again. This is why the jerseys still have one star. However, the updated versions of the jerseys will be out for the players from the next series onwards.
India's victory parade was a grand success
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) arranged a victory parade for the champion India team, who returned from Barbados after four days. They first went to Delhi to meet the honorary Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and then they came to Mumbai for the victory parade, which was from the Marine Drive to the Wankhade Stadium.
Almost the city came out to extend their support and love for the team. The streets were filled with people as they welcomed the ICC trophy after 11 years. The happiness and excitement of the Indians were quite evident when they marched onto the streets to celebrate the win with the players.
