After Pakistan's early exit from the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Haris Rauf was verbally abused by a fan while he was roaming around in a garden probably with his wife. The incident went viral as the video leaked on social media, and fans didn't like how Rauf reacted. They assumed the fan was Indian, even though he claimed he was from Pakistan. After the video leaked, Rauf, through his social media, expressed his grief over the incident and requested the audience to respect the players.

However, Pakistan's cricketer Mohammad Rizwan came forward to support his teammate and friend on social media by putting up a post that talked about how viewers do not have the right to interfere in players' lives, especially when they are with their family members. This became a massive controversy as Rizwan dragged 'India' into the conversation, which was wholly unnecessary and the fans trolled him for his tweet.

Pakistan is out of the tournament due to their poor performance in the league stages. They failed to reach the Super 8 and hence, will not be a part of the tournament anymore. Moreover, except for the bowlers, no other player did well, and thus, the team failed to qualify.

Pakistan qualifies for T20 World Cup 2026

The Men in Green surely have got some luck as they qualified for the T20 World Cup 2026 even when they failed to reach the Super 8 in this edition of the tournament. This leap happened due to Pakistan's ICC T20I rankings, where they are in 7th position. Hence, as per the rules, the teams with high rankings will qualify for the next World Cup edition.

Along with Pakistan, New Zealand also qualifies despite not playing in the Super 8. This tournament wasn't great for New Zealand, and they failed to qualify for the second stage. The tenth edition of the World Cup will be held in India and Sri Lanka; hence, both hosts are directly qualified for the tournament.
