Rishabh Pant must be on cloud nine after being brought by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for INR 27 crores. LSG were in battle with SRH to buy the player and went all in for the young keeper-batter. Pant is a talented batter and a brilliant keeper who has wonders in the tournament. Most of the franchises bid for him but Chennai Super Kings (CSK) didn't go for him even once.
While reports suggested that Pant might be brought by CSK, the tables turned at the auction. Well, there are some simple reasons behind this. The bidding war was going strong for the player but CSK had a limited purse. So going all in wouldn't have been a bright idea. A price of around INR 12-13 crores could have been feasible for CSK but that didn't happen.
Moreover, CSK might also be hoping for MSD to play for more than 2-3 years, so getting another keeper in the team doesn't make sense at all. Also, there will be other options for CSK beyond Pant like Phil Salt, Johnny Bairstow, Quinton de Kock and Shai Hope. So the Men in Yellow will be waiting to explore. Pant was a captaincy candidate for other teams but since CSK already have Ruturaj Gaikwad, bidding for him didn't make sense.

CSK get back Devon Conway for 6.25 crores
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) welcome their star batter Devon Conway for INR 6.25 crores in the mega auction. The prolific opener is a perfect partner for Ruturaj Gaikwad as the combination has done wonders in the IPL 2023. They did miss him in the following season as the batter was out of the entire season due to a finger injury.
CSK also brought in Rahul Tripathy for INR 3.40 crores who is a great middle-order batter. For both batters, CSK faced tough competition from teams like DC and PBKS but they held their nerves and claimed the players.
