Gautam Gambhir is one of India's most well-known former cricketers who is currently with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as their mentor. Under Gambhir, KKR won their 3rd title in the IPL after a wait of 10 years. His involvement in the team and how he manages the players are commendable; the entire world is a witness to this. Moreover, as a player, he was one of the best openers in India.

Now, he has applied for the head coach's position along with a few demands, which seemed unreasonable initially, but if we pay attention to them, they favour the team. Gambhir will bring a whole different vibe to the team, which will not only help the youngsters but also the senior players. Hence, considering him as the head coach of the Indian Cricket team might not be a wrong decision by the Board.

Let's examine the three reasons BCCI needs to accept Gautam Gambhir's demands for choosing him as India's next head coach:

1. Winning mindset of Gambhir: Could go well in ICC tournaments

India doesn't have a good track record in the ICC tournaments after 2013's Champions Trophy. Gambhir was a part of the team that won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011. He is a big match player, and we all know his skills. However, his winning mindset helped KKR win the trophy after 10 years of waiting, which speaks volumes about his mental stability and what he brings to the table. Hence, he's a good choice as India's head coach.

2. Different teams for different formats - can go well with multi-team tournaments

Gambhir has demanded two different teams for different formats, which seems to be a pretty good idea since it will also benefit the players in the long run. The players can stick to their niche and won't have to change their batting styles. In a way, they can play their game in the format they desire, which will also be good for their mental health.

3. Disciplined and strict nature - can be well in bringing each player to par

One of Gambhir's best qualities is that he can bring out the best in any player. Not just juniors but seniors as well. Plus, his way of dealing with the team and the situations is appreciation-worthy. After joining the KKR camp, Gambhir said, "There is no senior or junior players in the team, everyone is equal and the goal is to win the IPL." His every move speaks about how he can handle the team much better than everyone else.
