RCB defeated Rajasthan Royals by an 11-run margin in the 42nd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). The game was played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, April 24. The visiting skipper, Riyan Parag, won the toss and asked RCB to bat first. Batting first, the hosts posted a total of 205 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Former skipper and batting stalwart, Virat Kohli, played a brilliant knock of 70 runs off just 42 balls, with eight fours and two sixes, followed by Devdutt Padikkal’s 50 runs off just 27 balls, with 4 fours and three sixes. Later in the innings, Tim David and Jitesh Sharma also contributed with the knocks of 23 and 20 runs, respectively.
While chasing the target, Rajasthan Royals fell short by 12 runs and lost the game by 11 runs, getting restricted to the score of 194 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the entire 20 overs. Star RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood scalped 4 wickets, alongside 2 wickets picked by Krunal Pandya. Besides these two, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yash Dayal also bagged a wicket each.
Eventually, RCB won by 11 runs to move to the third spot in the tournament’s points table, with six wins and three defeats in their nine matches so far.
