Veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was bowling the fifth over of the game. In the first ball of the over, Suryavanshi top-edged the ball for a six to take his score to 16 runs. In the very next ball, he gave himself room to hit the ball over the extra cover region. Kumar, using his guile, bowled a knuckle ball and disturbed the batter’s timber.

Earlier in the day, RCB were put into bat and scored 205 runs on the board. The best batter for the home side was Virat Kohli with his knock of 70. Devdutt Padikkal batted well to score 50 runs. Sandeep Sharma was the lead bowler for RR with two wickets from his four overs for 45 runs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal sets the tone for huge chase

Indian batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal got the innings off to a great start when he smashed a six in the very first ball of the chase. Yash Dayal was given the task of bowling the second over for RCB, and the left-arm pacer was hit for 18 runs. Jaiswal smashed Dayan for two successive fours before hitting the last ball of the over for his second six.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi got going with his first six off Kumar’s bowling, while Jaiswal hit Josh Hazlewood for three successive fours in the next over, Nitish Rana came out to bat at number three and got off the mark with a brilliant six. In the sixth over of RR’s innings, Jaiswal took full advantage of Hazlewood’s bowling, hitting him for two fours and a six.

The veteran Aussie seamer had the last laugh when he had Jaiswal caught by Romario Shepherd in the fifth ball of the sixth over. Jaiswal was out after scoring 49 from just 19 balls with the help of seven boundaries and three sixes. At the end of six overs, RR had reached 72 runs for the loss of two wickets.
