Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to play the match number 51 of IPL 2025 season. Win for Gujarat will mean that they will go top of the table along with Mumbai Indians and more or less secure their place in the playoffs. Sunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand has to win the game to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Titans made one change to their side as South African pacer Gerald Coetzee is set to play his first game of the season.

Coetzee who made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians last season is set to replace Karim Janat from the playing. Janat, himself had made his IPL debut in the last game against Rajasthan Royals. The 27-year-old didn’t get a chance to bat and bowled just a single over and gave away 30 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit the medium pacer for three fours and three sixes to end his bowling stint.

Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first on what looked like a good wicket for the fast bowlers. Hyderabad are playing the same side that had won their previous encounter versus Chennai Super Kings away from home. Both sides have five games left and for SRH they need to win each of those matches. Failure to do so will put Hyderabad on the brink of elimination from the tournament.

What are Gerald Coetzee’s record in the IPL?

24-year-old Gerald Coetzee became one of the best young bowlers during the 2023 ODI World Cup for South Africa. This earned him a contract with Mumbai Indians and he made his debut against Gujarat Titans and got the wickets of Azmatullah Omarzai and Rahul Tewatia and picked two for 27 from four overs. Coetzee played 10 games last year and picked 13 wickets.

Speaking at the toss, Pat Cummins said “You never really what you will get. Sometimes it is better to bat at night. We won our first game at CSK's venue. Hopefully the trend continues here as well. If we win all our games, we still have a chance. We haven't quite clicked as a team. Last couple of games”
