Constant downpour in Brisbane meant that only 13.2 were possible during the 3rd Test match on Saturday. Australian openers Usman Khawaja was not out on 19 along with Nathan McSweeney batting on 4 runs. The first round of rain came in the 6th over before play was halted for a short while.

Play resumed before the second spell of rain came down and finally the umpires decided to halt the game. Fans stayed back to check if the play does start after early lunch was taken. Sadly, the second session of play was also rained out before the day was abandoned just after the tea session. 

Rohit Sharma had won the toss and elected to bowl first. Akash Deep replaced pacer Harshit Rana in the playing XI. Veteran star Ravindra Jadeja was brought into the XI to replace fellow veteran star Ravichandran Ashwin. 

When does play start on day two of 3rd Test?

Second day of the 3rd Test match in Brisbane will start at 5:20 AM IST (9:50 AM local time). Play will start on time provided there is no more rain which could potentially delay proceedings on Sunday. The drainage system in Brisbane is very good and water gets drained off very quickly. 

How many overs will be bowled during 2nd day of 3rd Test?

To make up for lost time, 98 overs will be bowled on Sunday. Akash Deep will resume on the 2nd day of the 3rd Test having bowled 3.2 overs so far and having conceded 2 runs so far. Jasprit Bumrah has bowled 6 overs so far and conceded 8 runs while Mohammed Siraj has bowled 4 overs with 2 maidens and 13 runs.
