Australia's captain, Pat Cummins, is currently out of the tournament due to an injury. Lately, he made the headlines for a statement attributed to him against India and ICC, as is reported by CODE Cricket. As per CODE Cricket's social media post, Cummins said, "You can't pick and choose where you play and where you are not going to play. It makes a farce of these tournaments."
This sparked controversies on social media as Cummins questioned the ICC's structure in favor of India in the Champions Trophy 2025. Following the crticism, Cummins cleared the air by tagging CODE Cricket on Twitter and saying, "I have definitely never said this." Shortly after, the social media page deleted the tweet.
This entire controversy happened in the first place because India refused to travel to Pakistan to play in the tournament due to safety concerns. Later on, this decision was met with criticism. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) even wrote to the ICC seeking clear information on India's travel status.

Pat Cummins also spoke about the advantage India will get by playing in Dubai, as they won't have to travel too frequently. However, he also praised the ICC's concept of the hybrid model, which would benefit the other teams as they'll get a chance to play in Dubai as well. Cummins' statement was a bit more diplomatic.
"I think it's good that the tournament can go on, but obviously it does give them (India) a huge advantage playing on the same ground. They already look very strong and they've got that obvious benefit of playing all their games there," Cummins said on Yahoo.
