The cricket fraternity is well aware of Rishabh Pant and his batting tactics in red-ball cricket. The kind of shots he plays out of nowhere shocks his fans who are watching the game. However, he gained much success with his batting style, and hence, people praise him for his courage. England's star batter Harry Brook spoke about Pant and the way he plays in Test cricket. Brook praised the batter for stepping out and hitting a boundary on the very first ball.

"I don't know if you saw Pant last night run down the pitch first ball - to have that sort of courage to get off the mark first-ball is something that we have done exceptionally well over the last couple of years - We say it all the time - we're out there to score runs. We're not there to survive."

Pant hasn't been very impressive in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 yet, however, he has been better than most of the batters. He's unable to convert his scores, which is the issue. India have lost one game and will be looking forward to doing well in the upcoming games to qualify for the WTC 2025 finals.

Very entertaining, no question about it: Sunil Gavaskar

India's former batter, Sunil Gavaskar, wasn't pleased with Rishabh Pant's batting in the second Test match against Australia as the player was dismissed without scoring many runs. Gavaskar bashed the player for his lack of responsibility. Also, the former batter took a dig at the IPL as well for giving contracts to players which has made them care less about Test cricket.

"Very entertaining, no question about it. But you mustn't forget, in the old days, there was no alternative to Test cricket; if you didn't play Test cricket, you went back to Ranji Trophy, you went back to club cricket, and that was it. When you have a cushion like the IPL, like the contract system, you can play this way. So what if you get dropped from the Indian team, you have the IPL," said Sunil Gavaskar.
