The veteran PBKS spinner Yuzvendra Chahal created history against CSK in the 49th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025. The leg-spinner became the first bowler to claim a hat-trick in IPL 2025. Chahal achieved this historic feat in the 19th over of the CSK innings in the first half of the game between CSK and PBKS.

The 34-year-old also created history, scalping four wickets in an over. After dismissing CSK skipper MS Dhoni on the second ball of the 19th over, he dismissed Deepak Hooda on the fourth ball of the over, followed by dismissing Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad on the two successive fifth and sixth balls of the over.

Punjab Kings aim second spot in table with a win 

Speaking of the current action of the game, CSK have been bundled out at the score of 190 runs in 19.2 overs as they lost their last five wickets within a span of just 6 runs and seven balls. It was star all-rounder Sam Curran, who played a brilliant knock of 88 runs off 47 balls, with nine fours and four sixes, following Dewald Brevis’ 32 runs off 26 balls, with two fours and a six.

The star of the day for PBKS, Yuzvendra Chahal, scalped 4 wickets at 32 runs in his three overs in the first innings, alongside 2 wickets each picked by Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen. Besides these three, Azmatullah Omarzai and Harpreet Brar also claimed a wicket each for their side in the first innings to bundle CSK at the score of 190 runs.

Notably, Punjab Kings are currently placed in the fifth spot on the table, with five wins and three defeats in their nine games so far. A win in this game will help them move to the second spot in the table, surpassing DC, GT, and MI.
