Match Number 43 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season saw Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lock horns. In what was a key game for both sides to stay alive in the tournament, the fielding standards were at an all-time high. Kamindu Mendis set the tone with his splendid grab to dismiss Dewald Brevis. English all-rounder Sam Curran then joined the fray with one of the best catches this season.

On the final ball of the 12th over, Noor Ahmad bowled an inviting ball to Ishan Kishan. The batter took the bait and hit the ball towards the boundary just a ball after hitting a six. Sam Curran, who had made his way further up the field, had to go back a few steps and took an amazing catch over his head.

There was concern for the English player, though, as he slammed his head down on the floor very hard. Ishan Kishan was dismissed after scoring 44 runs with the bat in his team’s chase of 155 runs to win the game. The batter scored his runs off 34 balls with the help of five boundaries and a solitary six.

Harshal Patel turns the game with the ball

Earlier in the day, veteran pacer Harshal Patel did the star turn with the ball as he grabbed four wickets for 28 runs from his four overs. The 34-year-old began his day with the key wicket of Sam Curran for nine runs, who was caught by Aniket Verma. Patel then got the huge wicket of Dewald Brevis for 42 runs.

Sri Lankan star Kamindu Mendis took an outstanding catch like a football goalkeeper. The catch earned huge applause from even the CSK fans who were left stunned seeing the athleticism. The final two wickets for Harshal were that of MS Dhoni for six, caught by Abhishek Sharma and Noor Ahmad for two, caught by Mohammed Shami.

SRH skipper Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat picked two wickets each, while Shami and Mendis picked a wicket apiece. The loser of this game will be knocked out of IPL 2025 with five games left to play in their respective campaign.
