The fielding medal ceremony started during the ODI World Cup 2023 by India's fielding coach, T Dilip and the tradition continued in the T20 World Cup 2024 as well. After the ICC tournaments, the management decided to keep the tradition going in the T20I series against Zimbabwe at Harare. Coach T Dilip wasn't physically present during the medal ceremony, so he sent a heartwarming video message to the team.
Since Dilip wasn't present during the ceremony, Subhadeep Ghosh led the tradition and presented the best fielder award to Rinku Singh for his magnificent efforts on the ground. Rinku got the Best Fielder's medal for his class fielding throughout the series.

It was an excellent effort from Rinku, who tried to fit in the shoes of legendary players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja. He played for the national team after being the travel reserve in the entire tournament in the T20 World Cup. As a batter, Rinku Singh is a rare talent who can bat in the middle overs and finish the innings for the team.
India's middle-order batter, Rinku Singh, received the Best Fielder award in the Zimbabwe series. After that, he started his speech with his favourite lines, 'First of all, God's plan.' He's one of the fittest players in the Indian team and knows his game well. He has helped India win a lot of matches, but this time his fielding was something to watch out for in the entire series.
"First of all God's plan. Felt very nice playing with all, this is my fourth or fifth series, so it's very nice. I like fielding more than batting and I enjoy fielding a lot, even enjoy running a lot. My body doesn't open up if I don't run a sprint," said Rinku Singh at the medal ceremony.
