Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal turned on the heat on Mitchell Starc in the very first over of the second innings. The 23-year-old was out for just 10 runs in the first innings before he was out to Scott Boland. The visitors came out after Tea with a slender lead of four runs after bowling out the hosts for 181 runs.

After carefully seeing out the first ball, Jaiswal was offered width by the bowler and the batter smacked it for four. In the next ball, Starc went wide again as Jaiswal obliged and smashed it for another four. The third boundary of the overcame when Starc was cut past the point region for a blistering boundary. 

The fifth ball off the over saw Jaiswal try to cut the ball and miss the shot only for Starc to have a wry smile on his face. The final ball of the over saw Starc pitch the ball up to the batter and Jaiswal just freed his arms and smashed the ball through the covers. The aggressive start to the innings had the fans and commentators at the edge of their seats. 

Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna combine to skittle out Australia for 181

Jasprit Bumrah started the day with the huge wicket of Marnus Labuschagne caught behind for two runs. Sam Konstas tried to push the scoring rate with a few boundaries but the Indian bowlers had the last laugh. Mohammed Siraj got two wickets in a single over to dent the hosts and leave them at 39 for 4. 

Konstas was caught by Jaiswal for 23 while Travis Head offered a simple catch in the slips to KL Rahul for four runs. Steve Smith and debutant Beau Webster added 57 runs for the 5th wicket with Smith smashing a huge pulled six off Krishna to show his form. 

Indian pacer had the final laugh when he had Smith caught by Rahul in the slips for 33. Alex Carey and Webster then added 41 runs for the 6th wicket before Krishna bowled the Aussie wicketkeeper for 21. Despite the wickets falling at the other end, Webster reached his maiden fifty to frustrate the Indian bowlers. 

Nitish Reddy got the wickets of Pat Cummins for 10 and Mitchell Starc for 1 run. Prasidh Krishna then got the wicket of Webster for 57 caught by Jaiswal to give him his 2nd catch. Mohammed Siraj knocked off the final wicket when he bowled Scott Boland for nine runs to give India the important lead in the game.
