Wasim Akram Trolls Virat Kohli on Live TV Photograph: (X)
Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was out for a low score yet again in India's opening game of the Champions Trophy 2025 versus Bangladesh. The 36-year-old scored just 22 runs and was out to Bangladesh's Rishad Hossain. For the third game in a row, the former India captain was out to a leg-spin bowler.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram took a huge dig at Kohli during his appearance on a post-show analysis on a Pakistan TV Channel. The host said, “Now let's come onto Kohli, outstanding record he has got”. Akram while replying to this said, “Kohli, if you want to speak about him, you have to watch Star Sports”. The former Pakistani skipper then let out a huge laugh that left all the panellists amused.

The discussion was taking place after India’s win over Bangladesh, and also as a build to the massive game on Sunday. Defending champions Pakistan head to Dubai to take on India to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. Wasim Akram then went on to add that there were other players also who needed to be focused on. Pakistan’s former pace ace called the 36-year-old ‘one of the best’.
Robin Uthappa analyses Virat Kohli’s weakness
After India’s win over Bangladesh, former India batter Robin Uthappa said that Kohli needs to work on his game. The 39-year-old was part of the post-match analysis on Star Sports and said that Kohli was ‘fixated’ with his intent to middle the ball rather than score runs.
Uthappa said “Virat, the great batter that he is, will have to address himself because, I think in a sense he's in his head a little bit. It feels like that from the outside. It feels like he's looking to middle the ball versus when he actually is batting well, he's looking to get runs,"
The former India batter also added “He's not worried about middling the ball because the intent itself is different. And I think he's trying to break free from that space of trying to middle the ball versus scoring runs and he's finding himself caught in between is what I'm feeling from the outside. I think it's a matter of time, the minute he frees his head up and just goes out there and expresses himself, the runs will flow,”
