BCCI Vice-President posts update about Indian teams’ return

Rajeev Shukla the BCCI Vice-president put out a tweet which read “Thank God team India is flying back from Barbados this evening to Delhi. Will be reaching tomorrow evening. They were stuck for three days there because of a massive hurricane. @BCCI has made all arrangements for the safe flight of players back home. BCCI secretary @JayShah himself is monitoring the whole situation,"

Meanwhile, VVS Laxman and the rest of the Indian side have landed in Zimbabwe for the five-match T20I series. Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana have been added to the squad for the first two games of the series.

Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, and Khaleel Ahmed will fly to Zimbabwe after they touch down back home. The decision to add the three players was taken by BCCI on Tuesday afternoon after the Indian team got stuck in Barbados.

The first T20I match is set to be played on the 6th of July and the series will end on the 14th of July. Following this India will tour Sri Lanka for 3 ODI and 3 T20I series towards the end of July.

Jay Shah while speaking about the Indian coach’s job also said that the new coach will join for the Sri Lanka tour. It is widely expected that Gautam Gambhir will take charge of the team as he is one of the favourites to land the job. WV Raman is the other name that was part of the interview process which was conducted by BCCI just a few weeks ago.
