BCCI announces replacement for Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal for upcoming Zimbabwe tour

India are all set to play their first T20Is against Zimbabwe on July 6 in Zimbabwe. Three players from the current Indian squad were stuck in Barbados due to the Hurricane. Hence, in place of Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, the BCCI has announced the replacement for the first two matches. While the entire team is quite young, the Board has decided to send three more young players, Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana.

While Sai Sudarshan and Jitesh Sharma have played for India, Harshit Rana has got his maiden call-up in the Indian squad. Rana has had a magnificent IPL 2024, where he picked up 19 wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He will be hoping to get a chance in India's playing 11 to prove his worth. 

The Zimbabwe series will be led by Shubman Gill, who will get a chance to manage the young team. Players who perform consistently might get a few more chances in the upcoming series against other teams. Now that three spots are empty in the Indian squad, the selectors will closely monitor all the potential players.

The Indian squad consists of players like Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Harshit Rana, and Tushar Deshpande, who will make their debut in the T20Is against Zimbabwe under Shubman Gill. They have made some brilliant performances in the IPL 2024 season and will be looking forward to an opportunity in the India team.
