The 36-year-old came running and dove in front to take the catch and dismiss Shah for 14 runs. This was Kohli’s 157th catch as a fielder in ODI cricket, going past Mohammad Azharuddin, who had 156. Soon catch number 158 was on its way as Kohli took an easy catch to dismiss Khushdil Shah as Pakistan were bowled out for 241.

Harshit Rana bowled a slower ball that Khushdil tried to heave across the line. Kohli, who was standing at the leg-side boundary, took an easy catch. Khushdil was out after scoring 38 runs from 39 balls, which included two massive sixes. Team India needs 242 runs to win and more or less confirm their place in the semis.

Have to put up a fight’ – Saud Shakeel reveals after stoic innings

Pakistani batter Saud Shakeel scored 62 runs as the rest of his teammates struggled on a sluggish wicket. The left-handed batter hit five boundaries in his 76-ball knock before he fell to Hardik Pandya in the fifth ball of the 35th over. The batter spoke to the host broadcasters at the mid-innings break and termed the pitch as slow.

Shakeel said, “I could have easily taken some more time there; it was not a good time to get out. Earlier, the ball wasn't coming onto the bat that nicely. A little bit of swing as well. As the spinners came, we made some runs there. The pitch was slightly on the slower side. We have to put up a fight there. If we take early wickets, we can put pressure on them. We have to strike early.”

The best bowler for India was Kuldeep Yadav, who went past 300 international wickets. Yadav bowled nine overs, picked three wickets and gave away just 40 runs. Hardik Pandya also picked two wickets, which also included the key scalp of Babar Azam for 23. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan was the second highest scorer for his side with 46 runs off 77 balls.
