Kuldeep Yadav wickets of Salman Agha and Shaheen Afridi
Indian wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav repaid his captain’s faith with two huge wickets in the 43rd over of the game. It was a key moment in the game as Khushdil Shah and Salman Agha were forging yet another key stand for Pakistan. The players looked like they were taking Pakistan past the 250-mark, which was seen as a good total.
Salman Agha was batting on 19 when he went for a wild slog across the line. The batter didn’t time the ball well and could only offer Jadeja the catch. Indian fans had their hearts in their mouths when it seemed that Jadeja had misjudged the catch. The veteran Indian star settled under the ball and completed the grab.

Shaheen Shah Afridi came out to bat and Kuldeep bowled a flatter ball that struck the batter on his pads. The umpire was quick to lift his finger but Afridi left everyone stunned with the decision to take a review. Once the replays came in, it was seen that the batter was struck plumb on his pads, and Afridi was out for a golden duck.
Indian bowling comes to the fore on testing surface in Dubai
Rohit Sharma was at his best as he rotated his bowlers and kept the Pakistani batters at bay. With three spin bowlers in the playing XI, India could afford to put the batters under pressure and make them earn their runs. Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan for a while looked like they had brought their team back into the contest.
The 104-run stand for the third wicket came off 24 overs to show the control Indian bowlers had. Rizwan felt frustrated and went to play a big hit and saw his stumps disturbed by Axar Patel. It was Saud Shakeel who braved the heat and the testing pitch to top score with 62 before holing out to Axar off Hardik Pandya.
There was massive concern for India on the field when skipper Rohit Sharma seemed to be struggling. The 37-year-old was seen limping and even went off the field for a few overs with Shubman Gill taking over as the captain. Rohit soon came back on the field but seemed in discomfort while fielding inside the circle and unable to run while fielding.
