The virtual knockout of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 turned out to be in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) favor as they defeated the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 27 runs. With this victory, RCB qualified for the playoffs and will play the eliminator on May 22. Moreover, after the match, a disheartened MS Dhoni was seen going to the dressing room without shaking hands with the RCB players.
A video went viral on social media, which showed that after the former CSK skipper went in, former RCB skipper Virat Kohli went inside the Super Kings' dressing room to meet his counterpart.
The fact that Kohli chased Dhoni to the dressing room after the game when he left without shaking hands tells you a lot about Kohli's character. True sportsmanship ❤️pic.twitter.com/H4Z6nQOqUG

While we all know the bond Dhoni and Kohli share, yesterday's match was very important for RCB, and it was evident from how Kohli was pumped up after every wicket. After winning six back-to-back matches, the men in red qualified for the playoffs, which showed the team's dedication to winning. Considering their current performance, the fans will be excited to see them play in the knockouts.
'The way we bowled with the wet ball was unbelievable...' - Skipper Faf du Plessis after bowlers performance
The Chinnaswamy Stadium's pitch became quite different after the rain stopped it for a while. The pitch started favoring the spinners more, which became an advantage for the RCB bowlers. With Glenn Maxwell starting the 2nd innings with his bowling and dismissing captain Ruturaj Gaikwad showed the pitch's nature. Even after that, the RCB bowlers did a great job in dismissing the Super Kings well within the target and hence, skipper Faf du Plessis was quite happy about the bowlers' performances.
"The way we bowled with the wet ball was unbelievable, we tried to change it. I dedicate this Man of the Match to Yash Dayal. The way he bowled was unbelievable. For a man who's fairly new, he deserves it," said Faf at the post-match presentation.
