In a relieving piece of news for Virat Kohli fans and RCB fans amidst the setback of his Test retirement, the modern-day batting legend has returned to the RCB camp ahead of IPL 2025 resumption. Notably, RCB will play against KKR in the first game of the tournament after the resumption.

Speaking of Kohli, he recently announced his retirement from Test cricket on Monday, May 12, with a post on his official Instagram handle. Later, he went to Vrindavan with his wife Anushka Sharma, which also attracted the attention of the fans.

Now, Kohli is set to be in action for his IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), in the upcoming game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, on May 17, at 7:30 PM (IST).

Virat Kohli leads RCB batting attack with exemplary performances

Speaking of the 36-year-old’s batting performances, he is in fourth place in the list of the leading run-scorers in the tournament’s current edition. Besides that, he is also the leading run-scorer for RCB in the ongoing IPL 2025.

He has scored 505 runs in 11 innings, including three unbeaten appearances and an outstanding batting average of 63.12, hitting seven half-centuries. Kohli is the only batter to score the highest number of half-centuries in the ongoing IPL 2025.

Speaking of RCB’s form in the current season, they have been enjoying a brilliant run of form in the tournament, with eight wins and three defeats in their 11 games so far. They are currently placed in the second spot on the tournament standings, with 16 points, including four successive wins and only one defeat in their last five games in the tournament.
