At the end of the second day of the opening Test match in Chennai, the home team were in complete control. Bangladesh struck back to take three wickets including that of Virat Kohli for 17. At the end of the day’s play Shubman Gill was batting with Rishabh Pant with India enjoying a lead of 307 runs with 7 wickets left.

There was some light-hearted moment between the visitors and Virat Kohli. The former Indian skipper could be heard on the stump mic saying “Usko strike de diya. Koi bol raha hai six maro”. All the parties involved could be seen having a laugh at the proceedings.

The former Indian skipper was out for 17 when he was given LBW off Mehidy Hasan Miraz. When the replays were shown there was an edge spotted on the bat leaving fans and teammates confused why DRS wasn’t taken.

Tamim Iqbal evokes the history between Mushfiqur Rahim and Virat Kohli

At the fall of Mominul Haque, former Bangladeshi skipper Mushfiqur Rahim came out to bat. At that point of time, former opener Tamim Iqbal was during commentary and made a point to Ravi Shastri.

The former Bangladeshi opener said while on commentary for the official broadcasters, “Mushfiqur Rahim is batting, Virat Kohli is in the slips. Watch out now. Keep an eye on them. They have quite the history”. To which Ravi Shastri said. “What history?”.

Tamim Iqbal was quick to point out, “Oh, you know, Ravi. You know what history I am talking about”. Harsha Bhogle in his indomitable way said, "Ah, well left Tamim. I guess Mushfiqur has a bit of history with everyone."

Last year ahead of the India vs Bangladesh ODI World Cup game, Mushfiqur Rahim had made some curious comments. The Bangladeshi star had said that Kohli always tries to engage in some banter.

Mushfiqur Rahim during his chat with Star Sports had said. “Some batters in the world love sledging and get pumped up by that. So I never sledge him because he gets pumped up by that. I always tell my bowlers to get rid of him as early as possible.”

The former skipper of Bangladesh also went onto say, “Whenever I play against him, he always tries to sledge me every time I go in to bat because he is a really competitive guy, and he doesn't want to lose any cricket match. I really love that rivalry with him and the challenge that comes with facing him and India."
