Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ended their drought of wins at the MA Chidambaram Stadium of Chennai on March 28 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. They defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on their home ground after a long gap of 17 years. The Rajat Patidar-led side defeated CSK by 50 runs and claimed their second win of the ongoing season.

Meanwhile, former RCB skipper Virat Kohli was seen engaging in an animated chat with CSK pacer Khaleel Ahmed after the match. The altercation first took place when Khaleel bowled a bouncer that beat Kohli. After which the pacer went close to Kohli and gave him a stare. Kohli remained silent and didn’t react; however, after the conclusion of the match, Khaleed approached Kohli for a conversation, but the batter looked angry and reacted aggressively, which was caught on camera as the clip went viral on social media.

Brilliant all-round performance by RCB

Talking about the match, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and elected to field first. However, the bowlers let the captain down as RCB ended up scoring 196 runs. RCB skipper Rajat Patidar led from the front and smashed a fiery half-century. In the end, Tim David provided the finishing touch by smashing three back-to-back sixes to Sam Curran and helped the team to put up a good total on the scoreboard.

Chasing the target, CSK started horribly, losing three wickets inside the powerplay itself. Batters like Rahul Tripathi, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda departed cheaply. Rachin Ravindra tried to keep one end safe, but his resistance broke during the 13th over and he was dismissed after scoring 41 runs. Former CSK skipper, MS Dhoni, displayed some big strokes in the end, but it didn't make any difference as RCB claimed a convincing 50-run win.
