The eighth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers (RCB) saw many spicy moments. On the very next ball, Pathirana bowled a short ball to the batter and Kohli was quick to respond. The 36-year-old rocked back onto the back foot and pulled the ball deep into the stands for a six. Once the shot was played, Kohli could be seen angrily looking at the bowler and saying something to him.

Pathirana just had a smile on his face as he made his way back to the bowling crease. On the next ball, Kohli hit yet another four to move to 26 runs and scored just ten runs in a space of two deliveries. Before the start of the over, Kohli had faced 22 balls to score 16 runs as the CSK bowlers tied down the former RCB skipper.

Noor Ahmad ends Virat Kohli’s misery versus CSK

Former RCB skipper Virat Kohli managed to score 31 runs from 30 balls with two fours and a six. The 36-year-old couldn’t come to terms with the pitch as he struggled to get going with the bat.  Just when it seemed like Kohli was set for a huge score, Noor Ahmad had Kohli caught by Rachin Ravindra in the second ball of the 13th over.

Liam Livingstone batting for the first time in RCB colors smashed a six to get going. Ahmad then got his third wicket and taken the purple cap when he castled Livingstone for ten runs off nine balls in the third ball of the 16th over. Ahmad finished his spell with figures of 3 for 36 from his four overs.

Rajat Patidar kept his amazing form with the bat going as he scored a terrific fifty with the bat. Patidar hit Khaleel Ahmed for a four in the first ball of the 18th over of the innings to reach the fifty off just 30 balls and give the much needed momentum to RCB.
