In the ongoing England Domestic One-Day Cup 2024, Venkatesh Iyer proved to be a star bowler and secured victory for Lancashire by 3 runs against Worcestershire. Bowling in the 49th over, Iyer was defending 16 runs. However, the first two balls went for boundaries, and the pressure was on the bowler. Tom Hinley's brilliant strokeplay was something to be admired in the match.
After that, Iyer leaked a few extras, and the equation came down to 4 runs needed in 8 balls with 2 wickets in hands. From here, Venkatesh Iyer took two wickets in two balls and won the match for his team. He outplayed the batters and gained victory which is indeed a proud moment for the bowler.

The bowlers did the job for Worcestershire as they restricted Lancashire to just 237 runs. Now the batters were chasing 238 runs in 50 overs but mailed massively and lost the match by just three runs. Both teams did well and now will be waiting to play their next game and secure victories to qualify for the next stage.
Morne Morkel appointed as India's bowling coach
After several reports surfaced on the Internet, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) finally decided to announce India's bowling coach. While it was pretty much clear, BCCI chose Morne Morkel as the bowling coach, and his stint will start on September 1.
He will work with Gautam Gambhir and Co. in the next India: Bangladesh series assignment. The 2-match Test series falls under the WTC cycle, and winning these games is crucial for India since it has tougher competitions ahead.
