One of the most expensive picks in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, Venkatesh Iyer, finally lived up to his 23-crore worth with a swashbuckling 60-run knock against SRH in the 15th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). Iyer smashed 60 runs off just 60 runs off just 29 balls, with seven fours and three sixes.
Besides that, what attracted the eyeballs was the 19th over of KKR innings when Venkatesh Iyer brutally bashed SRH skipper and veteran pacer Pat Cummins for 21 runs in an over. Iyer started the over with a four on the first followed by a six on the next ball before hitting two successive fours on the third and the fourth ball of the over. Eventually, the over ended up with 21 runs, with a double on the fifth ball and a run in the leg-bye on the last ball.
What left everyone amazed was Iyer’s six off Cummins on the second ball, which he picked up and smashed over deep square leg, dragging the shot from the off stump.
The video of these sensational hits smashed by Venkatesh Iyer off Pat Cummins in the 19 over, started making rounds on social media as soon as IPL shared it on their official X handle (formerly Twitter).
