India's spin wizard Varun Chakaravarthy delivered a fantastic ball to dismiss in-form batter Mahipal Lomror in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024. Rajasthan skipper, Lomror, was batting on 60 runs off 49 balls when Chakaravarthy sent him back to the pavilion.
The batter seemed confused with the delivery and went to chip it towards the leg side but failed to touch the ball. He shuffled a bit, and by the time he went on to play the ball, he missed it, and his stumps were dismantled. Lomror thought that the ball would travel straight but it changed its trajectory after pitching and moved a little towards off. Lomror had hit three boundaries and four sixes before getting out.

It was Tamil Nadu who won the toss and forced Rajasthan to bat first. Well, they would have regretted their decision to bowl first because the opponent batters wreaked havoc on bowlers. Rajasthan scored 267 runs in the first innings, thanks to Abhijeet Tomar's century. The lower middle order failed to perform, and that is why the team was restricted to under 300 runs.
Varun Chakaravarthy makes a stellar performance for TN
Against Rajasthan, Varun Chakaravarthy was just exceptional with his bowling. He claimed a five-wicket haul, dismantling the entire batting lineup. He started by dismissing Lomror in the 32nd over and then went on to dismiss Deepak Hooda in the 34th over. He bowled brilliantly to send the Centurian Tomar back to the pavilion in the 36th over.
His consistent breakthrough helped Tamil Nadu restrict the batters to under 300 runs. Now, Chakaravarthy is looking all set to be picked up in the Indian squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. India will travel to Abu Dhabi in February to play the ICC event.
