India showed a marvellous game under Virat Kohli's captaincy in 2021 when they beat England in the 2nd Test match at the Lord's Cricket Ground, London. It was a terrific effort by the entire team, filled with talented batters and bowlers who made sure that the English batters felt helpless in their own backyard. Plus, Kohli's captaincy and energy on the field was the Cherry on the Cake.

After the win, the Men in Blue led the series, 1-0, since the first match was a tie. The toss favoured the English skipper Joe Root who elected to field first. Letting India take on the field in the summer days was a treat to watch for the Indian audience. The first innings was a superhit as India scored 364 runs which included KL Rahul's 129 runs off 250 balls and Rohit Sharma's 83 runs off 145 balls.

Watch the video of the team rejoicing after the win:

The openers destroyed the bowlers and their confidence on the first day itself, benefiting India. However, James Anderson's fifer restricted India from scoring more runs. The batters played beautifully throughout the first innings, and there was no margin for error. Only the tail-enders failed to perform, but that didn't matter since the others had done their job.

Indian bowlers' terrific show surprised English batters to the core

In the second innings, Ajinkya Rahane, Mohammed Shami, and Cheteshwar Pujara wreaked havoc on the English team after playing magnificently. India gave a target of 271 runs, which didn't seem much as the England players went on to bat. However, the top order was dismissed cheaply, and then the middle order and the tail-enders collapsed in front of the Indian bowling attack.

It was that kind of a match where the bowlers were in terrific form and dismantled the entire batting line-up, which was unbelievable. Mohammed Siraj was the main bowler who claimed a 4-wicket haul, and Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets. Even though Virat Kohli didn't do much in the match, his captaincy and his energy were top-notch. However, KL Rahul was given the Player of the Match award for a brilliant knock in the first innings.
