Rohit and Co. departed to Dubai from Mumbai on Saturday; after landing in Dubai, the team will start their preparations for the prestigious cricket quadrennial. Rohit Sharma’s men will be eyeing ending their 12-year-long wait for the title in the Champions Trophy since they won it last in 2013 under the captaincy of former legendary skipper MS Dhoni.

Notably, India are coming off a comprehensive 3-0 whitewash win against England in the three-match ODI series. Before that, India’s T20I team under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy, outplayed Jos Buttler’s men by a 4-1 margin in the five-match T20I series.

Rohit Sharma’s men are placed in tournament’s Group A with arch-rivals Pakistan, alongside Bangladesh and New Zealand as the two other teams. They will take on the arch-rivals Pakistan in the high-octane clash on February 23, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

India also faced a major setback just a week before the start of the tournament as their star pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the entire tournament due to an injury. The management replaced Bumrah with the young KKR pacer Harshit Rana.
