India secured a comfortable win in their second Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup on Saturday (June 22). The Indian side romped home to an easy 50-run win over Bangladesh in Antigua to nearly book their place in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Meanwhile, West Indies legend Sir Viv Richards was seen heading to the Indian dressing room after the game. The former Windies skipper was invited as a special guest to present the award for the best fielder to Suryakumar Yadav. Viv Richards boosted the morale of the team with his appearance as the rest of the team applauded the moment Suryakumar received a medal for his outstanding efforts on the field.

The legendary cricketer also gave a warm hug to the keeper-batter Rishabh Pant and called him a 'Pocket Rocket'. Before exiting the room, Sir Viv said, “If the men in maroon don’t get it done, I am rooting for you guys” and that drew a huge round of applause from the team.

It was Hardik Pandya who won the Player of the Match against the Bangla Tigers for his brilliant 50 and also his impactful bowling (1/32). The 30-year-old was emotional when speaking at the end of the game.

“I have been fortunate to play for the country, it was a freak injury I had, I wanted to come back but God had other plans. I was speaking to our coach Rahul Dravid sir and he said 'Luck comes to people who work hard' and that has stuck with me for a long time," Pandya said.

“Wicket looked alright, par would've been 180, we got 196. That's a good score here. At the point Shivam went (in), a couple of wickets were lost. He had to take his time and we did well to recover. His strength is to take down spinners," the star all-rounder added.
