Sunil Gavaskar calls out Australian journalist over SKY’s catch
It has been over a week since the final match of the T20 World Cup was played. There are still debates raging about the catch taken by Suryakumar Yadav to dismiss South African batter David Miller. One Australian journalist had cast his doubts over the catch to which former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar gave an apt reply.
While writing in SportStar, the former Indian legendary batter opined “There was also a question raised in an Australian paper about the fairness of the catch that Suryakumar Yadav took to dismiss David Miller in the final. All the replays were quite clear that SKY had done a marvellous balancing act as he took the catch and flicked the ball up in the air before he crossed the boundary rope and then jumped in the air and caught the ball within the boundary to complete a fabulous catch
The former legendary batter also wrote “Nobody questioned the catch, but the writer of the article did. He may be interested to see the video floating around of the 10 most blatant cheating acts done by the Aussies before trying to point a finger at SKY. Pot calling the kettle black indeed”
Suryakumar Yadav will be taking a much-needed break from the game while the Indian side takes on Zimbabwe. Shubman Gill and his team will play five T20I matches which begin on Saturday with Abhishek Sharma set to make his international debut and open the batting for India. It is also revealed that Ruturaj Gaikwad will be batting at number 3 for India.
