During the SA20 2025 Eliminator clash, Joburg Super Kings' skipper Faf du Plessis took a stunning catch at mid-off against defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape. While Du Plessis has taken many brilliant catches before, this was undoubtedly one of his best, making it look far easier than it actually was.
The moment occurred on the first ball of the fifth over when Imran Tahir bowled a well-flighted delivery outside off. Batter David Bedingham attempted to clear mid-off, unaware that Du Plessis was standing there. Faf sprinted to his left and grabbed the ball mid-air over his head. Bedingham, who was batting on 27 off 14 balls, had struck three boundaries and one six before his dismissal.

The Super Kings won the toss and put the Eastern Cape to bat first. In an important game, batting first is always risky and the SEC lost some early wickets as well. However, like always, captain Aiden Markram saved the team with a brilliant half-century. The player scored an unbeaten 62 runs in 40 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes.

Imran Tahir's terrific bowling brings back Joburg Super Kings into the game
Joburg Super Kings' one of the best and most experienced players, Imran Tahir, has done well on the field with the ball. He claimed two wickets in four overs, conceding 21 runs. He dismissed two well-set batters, helping the Super Kings get back into the game.
His teammate Hardus Viljoen helped him from the other end, taking two wickets in four wickets. Despite everything, SEC ended up scoring 184 runs in the first innings. JSK will have to chase the score to qualify for the finals and kick out the two-time champions from the tournament.
