The game is going great between England and the West Indies, as the Caribbean country is trailing by 61 runs. They have a good chance of winning the game if they manage to set up a good total on the board for the bowlers to defend. Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Jamie Smith's collective effort recused England at the time of crisis.

Joe Root reached 12000 runs in Test cricket; becomes the seventh player to do so

England's Joe Root, one of the best players in the world, has reached 12000 runs in Test cricket during the 3rd Test match against West Indies. He was 60 runs behind before the start of the game and now has surpassed batting stalwart Brian Lara after scoring 12k runs. It took Root 143 innings to achieve this feat which is quite amazing.

He is now the seventh player to be on the elite list including players like Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, Rahul Dravid, Alastair Cook, and Kumar Sangakkara who have completed 12000 runs in red-ball cricket. This isn't an easy job, but Root's consistent performance in Test cricket made it easy for him to score more and more runs. He is a strong contender who can break Sachin Tendulkar's record of the highest run-scorer in the upcoming times.
