Sophie Ecclestone dismisses Beth Mooney in Second T20I (File Photo: Screengrab/X)
Star England Women spinner Sophie Ecclestone displayed her amazing ‘presence of mind’ in the ongoing second T20I of the three-match series in the Women’s Ashes 2025. Ecclestone trapped in-form Australia opener and wicketkeeper-batter, Beth Mooney in the first innings to get the latter stumped out by English wicketkeeper Amy Jones.
The moment came on the third ball of the eighth over when Mooney was comfortably playing at the individual score of 44 runs off 31 balls, with seven fours. But then came Ecclestone with her clever approach to dismiss the well-settled Mooney and give the second blow to the hosts.
The Aussie batter happened to take an early jump and Ecclestone sensed it already which made him decide to bowl wide down the leg stump. The video of this amazing ‘clever moment’ featuring Sophie Ecclestone, also went viral on social media as soon as it was shared on X (formerly Twitter).
