Just a few days back, former India skipper and modern-day batting great Virat Kohli attracted the headlines in both India and Pakistan for his viral statement in which was seen expressing his desire to play in Pakistan. In a viral Instagram video shared by a Pakistan in which he showed his call with Virat Kohli.

Kohli was heard saying in the video, “My regards to your family and all your friends; everyone has started travelling to Pakistan, so hopefully we can go there soon.”

Meanwhile, Kohli’s statement has drawn massive praise and love from the former Pakistan skipper and the great all-rounder of his era, Shahid Afridi. The former Pakistan skipper spoke to the media and extended his heartfelt gratitude to Virat Kohli for such a heart-whelming statement.

“Virat Kohli’s statement showed that such cricketers are the ambassadors of their country. I had expected the same kind of statement from Virat Kohli. Thank you so much, Virat. We are waiting for you to come to Pakistan and play in PSL or with the Indian team. It would be good if you came with the Indian team,” said Afridi to media.

The video of Afridi’s response to Kohli’s statement is also making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by the users over X (formerly Twitter).

Coming back to Virat Kohli, he is currently active for his franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the ongoing Indian Premier League. RCB made a ‘dramatic’ comeback and ‘iconic’ entry into the playoff stage of the current season of the tournament, after facing seven consecutive defeats in the first half of the tournament.

RCB defeated the defending champions CSK by 27 runs in the ‘virtual quarter-final’ played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, May 18, which has always been a lucky date for RCB in the history of the tournament.
