Australian bowlers namely Scott Boland didn’t take much time to end India’s innings during the final Test at the SCG. The veteran seamer who had picked 4 wickets on Saturday claimed two wickets in the 40th over to bowl out India for mere 157. This means Australia needs 162 to win the Test match and the series win on Sunday will also knock India out of the WTC finals race.
All the action took place in the 40th over of the Indian innings when Mohammed Siraj edged the ball to Usman Khawaja. The Aussie opener took an easy catch to dismiss Siraj for four runs. Two balls later the innings was wrapped up as Bumrah was bowled through the gate for a second ball duck.

Scott Boland finished the innings with figures of 6/45 to take his match haul to 10/76. It was a glorious performance from the seamer who had replaced Josh Hazlewood after the latter’s injury. Pat Cummins began the day with two early wickets as he dismissed overnight batter Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar.
Indian batting fails to come to the fore once again
Armed with a small lead of four runs, Indian batters decided to take the aggressive route with the bat. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 16 runs in the very first over of the second innings smashing Mitchell Starc for four boundaries. The opening stand with KL Rahul was worth 42 runs and it came in quick time.
Just as it seemed India were running away with the contest, Boland dismissed both KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal in space of two overs. The veteran star also dismissed Virat Kohli for just six runs caught in the slips by Steve Smith. Rishabh Pant was the only batter to put up a fight as he scored a quick 61 off 33 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes.
Pat Cummins provided the breakthrough when he had the wicket of Pant caught behind after the last drinks break of the day. Nitish Reddy scored just four runs before holing out a simple catch to give Boland his fourth wicket of the day.
