KL Rahul has been one of the most consistent batters in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. However, things haven't gone in his favour in the ongoing fifth Test match against Australia, as he was dismissed by Scott Boland in the second innings. Rahul was batting comfortably on 13 runs when Boland delivered an unplayable ball, helping Australia get back in the game.
Boland bowled on a fuller-length ball just outside off, and Rahul was planning to drive the ball. However, he got an inside edge back onto the stumps and was clean-bowled. Boland has been a nightmare for India now as he dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal as well.

From leading the game to struggling again, India are back in action. With two wickets down and eight in hands, India will look to score at least 300 runs. A higher score on the SCG pitch wouldn't be easy for Australia to chase down in the second innings. Indian batters will have to do wonders to save the Test match and their hopes of qualifying for the WTC 2025 finals.

Basically the chat I had with the coach and selector was simple: Rohit Sharma
India's skipper Rohit Sharma came in to have an engaging conversation with the commentators, where he revealed that he wouldn't take retirement from cricket just because people are talking about it. He clarified that he stood out of the final game because he wasn't able to score runs and wanted to give Shubman Gill a chance.
Rohit Sharma, as quoted by CRICBUZZ, said, "Basically, the chat I had with the coach and selector was simple: I am not in form, it is an important match, and we need a player in form. Not thinking too far ahead, right now what the team needs is the priority. I made this decision after we came here."
