Star India opener and wicketkeeper-batter, Sanju Samson registered his name in the history books with a sensational shot off the game’s first-ball. Samson smashed an amazing six off the first ball of the first over bowled by star England pacer Jofra Archer in the fifth T20I. With this first-ball six, Samson also became only the third Indian batter in T20Is to achieve this feat of hitting a six on the first ball of the match.
Before Samson, India’s ODI and Test skipper, Rohit Sharma smashed a first-ball six against England leg-spinner Adil Rashid in 2021. Following Rohit, it was young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal who smashed Zimbabwe’s Sikander Raza for a six on the first ball of the game last year in 2021.
The video of Sanju Samson’s first-ball six off Jofra Archer is also making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by the official broadcasters on their official X handle (formerly Twitter).

Notably, Suryakumar Yadav’s men are currently leading the five-match T20I series by an unassailable margin of 3-1 after defeating the tourists by 15 runs in the fourth T20I of the series. They will look ahead to win the ongoing Mumbai T20I and finish the five-match T20I series on a higher note with a 4-1 margin.
Speaking of England, they are struggling in the series with the defeats in three T20Is of the last four games. Jos Buttler and Co. will aim to win this game and end the series on a winning note with a consolation success.
