Indian cricket team got off to a terrible start as they lost Sanju Samson for a second ball duck. The 30-year-old had failed to open his score during the second game against South Africa that was played in Gqeberha on Sunday. It is to be noted that Samson had set the series on fire with his century in the opening match which came off 50 balls.

Marco Jansen was bowling over the wicket and got the ball to swing in. Samson was beaten for pace as the ball went on to hit the stumps. Indian fans were left disappointed as they hoped for yet another amazing start from India’s wicketkeeper batter.

Tilak Varma came into bat at number 3 and got off the mark with a four and six. Abhishek Sharma, who has been struggling for form, hit Gerald Coetzee for two fours and a six in a single over to set the tone. The two young guns helped India get to a total of 70 runs in the powerplay.

Sanju Samson’s father makes huge claims

Meanwhile, Indian wicketkeeper Sanju Samson’s father Viswanath has made a huge statement. According to Viswanath, four people were involved in "wasting ten years" of Sanju’s cricketing life.

Viswanath Samson, while speaking to a local Malayalam channel, said, “There are 3-4 people who wasted 10 years of my son's vital career...captains like Dhoni ji, Virat ji, Rohit ji and coach Dravid ji”. Samson will be soon playing under Rahul Dravid as the latter is set to oversee proceedings as coach of Rajasthan Royals for the IPL 2025 season.

“These four people wasted 10 years of my son's life but the more they hurt him, the stronger Sanju came out of the crisis” further said Viswanath Samson while speaking to Malayalam channel Media One.

Ramandeep Singh made his debut for India on Wednesday as he came in for pace bowler Avesh Khan. It was Aiden Markram who won the toss and for the third time in succession chose to bat first. Fast bowler Lutho Sipamla was back in the side this time for leg-spinner Nqabayomzi Peter who hadn’t done well in the opening two games.
