Australian batting sensation Sam Konstas played a pivotal knock of 53 for Sydney Thunder during the Big Bash League (BBL) game on Monday. The 19-year-old has become the talk of the cricketing world after his amazing exploits on his Test Debut against India.

On Monday, Konstas who is playing for Sydney Thunder, took his former under-19 teammate Mahli Beardman to the cleaners. The incident occurred in the fourth ball of the third over as Beardman bowled to Konstas. The batter ventured down the track and smashed the bowler over his head for a huge six to show his amazing form with the bat. 

Sydney Thunder were put into bat after Ashton Turner won the toss for Perth Scorchers. The visitors are coming into the game on the back of their loss to Sydney Sixers after Steve Smith scored an unbeaten century while opening the batting. Thanks to the knock by Sam Konstas, the hosts reached 158/7 from their 20 overs.

Tom Andrew’s blitz helps Thunders end on a high

David Warner was acting as a mere spectator seeing Sam Konstas smashing Perth’s bowlers to all parts of the ground. The openers added 36 runs in just three overs as the home team looked set for a huge total on the board. The introduction of pacer Lance Morris changed the game as David Warner and Matthew Gilkes fell in the same over for 8 runs each. 

Cooper Connolly then got into the wicket column as he dismissed Sam Billings for just one run. Ashton Agar then struck when he castled Hugh Weibgen for six to leave the hosts at 75/5. The unreal batting collapse took the home fans by surprise as the Thunder side lost five wickets for 39 runs. 

Lance Morris struck for a third time as he dismissed Konstas for 53 runs. The 19-year-old hit 53 off 42 balls with the help of five boundaries and two sixes. At the end of 17 overs, the hosts were 114/7 before Chris Green and Tom Andrews joined forces. Andrews smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground to end with 37 not out from 13 balls with three fours and three sixes.
