Pakistani batters piled on more misery on England bowlers during day 2 of the 1st Test in Multan. There was a controversy which erupted during the post-lunch session involving Salman Agha. The incident happened in the 3rd ball off the 117th over of the innings as the batter went for a huge shot against Jack Leach.

Salman Agha looked as if he had mistimed the ball as it was making its way towards the boundary. The power in the shot was what helped the ball sail past the ropes. Chris Woakes who fielding at the long-off region took the catch and threw the ball back into the field of play.

England’s seamer made it back in time to take the catch. Even the Pakistani batter looked like he was going back to the hut as he felt he was out. That’s when the third umpire was called for as Naseer Hussain on commentary said the benefit will be given to the batter. Once the replays came on, it was seen that Woakes had some part of his foot beyond the boundary while throwing the ball back into play.
